FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 2, 2025 – St. John’s, NL: Big Feed Club Grocery Delivery, a Newfoundland and Labrador-based business, is the only locally owned grocery delivery service of its kind to offer both home delivery from multiple suppliers and business-to-business services.
By the end of this week, Big Feed Club will identify the country of origin for all products offered through its platform, providing full transparency to its customers.
“Due to the ongoing trade dispute between the United States and Canada, we are committed to being fully transparent about the origin of all products available through our service,” said co-founder Bradley Russell.
“The supply chain in Canada is interconnected with that of other countries and will lead to disruptions that cannot be fully anticipated. What we can do is take proactive steps to ensure our customers are the best-informed in Newfoundland and Labrador.”
By the end of this week, Big Feed Club will implement the following actions:
- Clearly list the country of origin for more than 2,000 products on its platform.
- Introduce custom sorting options, allowing customers to prioritize products originating in Canada.
- Prominently tag Canadian-made products with a maple leaf logo, enabling customers to make informed purchasing decisions at a glance.
- Prioritize marketing for products originating in both Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada.
“We all have a role to play in ensuring a resilient and informed food system. Since 2021, we have been a community leader in food distribution in our province, and we fully intend to lead by example,” Russell emphasized.
